Instant road trip

I'm still getting over the cold I caught on Sunday, the result of being to hot, then too cold, over and over while riding in the back of a truck for two hours both directions. The family I'm living with took us, without even an hours warning, to a small village called San Miguel, which is somewhere is Baja Verapaz near Salamá. I haven't even had a chance to try to figure out where it is on the map yet, my nose has been running so much. While there we visited the oldest sugar mill in Guatemala and went swimming before the batteries went dead in my camera.

If I had it to do over again, or even if I'd had a few more minutes warning, there are a few things I might do differently, like wear sunscreen and close-toed shoes, but on the whole it was a great time.
